THE SIX HAND BAND to perform March 16, 2008
Three Pianists/One Piano
Six Hands Above the Piano Keyboard; Six Feet
Under
JOHNSON CITY, NY - On Sunday afternoon, March 16th at 2:00 PM, the Goodwill Theatre's
Firehouse Stage will present the Southern Tier debut of The Three Belleayrian Pianists with Attitude in a
program titled: "Six Hands Over and Six Feet Under"...... THE SIX HAND BAND!
Dubbed by Belleayre Festival audiences in the Catskills of New York, as "The Belleayrians", virtuoso soloists
John Covelli (right) , Justin Kolb (left) , and Idith Meschulam Korman (center), have created a popular and
unique collaboration at the keyboard of the concert grand piano.
The program typically opens and closes with pianistic pyrotechnics that often place six hands and 30 fingers
operating in the space of three notes apart from each other at high velocity. Since their debut concert several
years ago, dazzled audiences have rewarded the three Belleayrian pianists with standing ovations, cheers,
and requests for more concerts.
The performers have each been acclaimed by the international press during their separate careers, and the
New York Times especially, has lauded their pianistic prowess. Equipped with high artistic standards and
spirited personalities, the Belleayrian presentations are laced with humorous commentary and spontaneous
interaction with audiences and one another.
In addition to 6-hand works, each artist also introduces and performs a solo segment of specially chosen
pieces designed to enrich every program with a colorful spectrum of pianism - spanning the repertoire from
classics and the romantic to very contemporary, performed with incredible virtuosity and contrasting individual
styles.
The entire presentation of the Six Hand Band from Belleayre is unique in the world of piano; a program of
wonderful variety. It's pianism that is DIFFERENT!!!!!! DELIGHTFUL!!!!!!! DON'T MISS IT!!!!!
